Guest Post: Pumpkin Trick-or-Treats
Posted by Norene Cox on 9/3/2012 to Halloween Ideas

Hi!  Norene Cox again from Party Pinching!

I'm so thrilled to be back again guest blogging for MyCandyCrafts.com.  I was so inspired by all of the goodies offered by MyCandyCrafts.com and Candy.com that I HAD to do not one, but TWO tutorials for Halloween.  Let's get started!

Here's what you'll need
:

Pumpkin Trick-or-Treat Cupcakes

Pumpkin Trick-or-Treat Rice Krispies Pops

Here's the how-to for Pumpkin Trick-or-Treat Cupcakes:

Bake cupcakes and frost with orange frosting.

With a sharp knife, very carefully slice a small amount off the top of a gumball.

Unroll and cut small pieces of the licorice wheel for the handle.  The gumball is hollow inside so tuck the licorice in so it bends.  Place in freezer for a few minutes to keep the shape.

Following package directions, melt a small amount of orange candy melts and frost the top of the gumball.  Add the frozen handle and a variety of sprinkles.

Place on top of cupcake.

Here's the how-to for
Pumpkin Trick-or-Treat Rice Krispies Pops:

Roll Rice Krispies Treats into a ball, slice off top.

Melt orange candy melts according to package instructions.

Place lollipop stick about 1/4 of the way into the candy melts and then into the Rice Krispies Treat.  Let dry.

Next, dip Rice Krispies Treat into melted orange candy melt.  Tap the stick against your finger so the excess will drip off.  Place in Styrofoam to dry completely.

Using a wooden skewer, make a small hole on the top of the treat for the licorice handle. Dip licorice ends into orange candy melt and push into holes.

Frost top of the treat and add Skittles and other candies if desired.

With an edible marker, draw pumpkin face on the front.

A super cute addition is to fill the Halloween Candy Cups with candy and hang them from branches for a fun centerpiece.

With these little tricks your treats will be a great addition to any Halloween party!
